1. Custom fields for Working, Project and Drive Log recordings
You can add up to 7 custom fields for every recording feature (Working Time, Project Time and Drive Log).
Custom fields are available in the timr Web Application and in the timr iOS and Android Apps.
The fields can have one of the following types:
- Text
- Number
- Value List
- Yes/No (Boolean)
In order to use one of the fields, simply put a name into the textbox and choose a type.
1.1. Optional and mandatory fields
You can mark a field as optional or mandatory. If its mandatory, the entry cannot be persisted without putting a value into the mandatory custom field.
1.2.1. Custom Fields of type 'Text'
If you need a custom field of type 'Text' for the Recording, you choose the field for the desired feature. Define now a name for the custom field, e.g. Order number and click on 'Save'.
The custom field 'Order number' is now shown directly in the recording dialog. Insert the desired value directly in the custom field 'Order number'.
timr Web Application:
timr App:
You can edit the custom field 'Order number' of an already saved entry at any time. If you rename the field or change the datatype it may appear that already inserted data isn't shown correctly any more. The custom field 'Order number' is also shown when you add time entries manually.
You can filter for the custom field 'Order number' in the tab 'Project Time', in 'Reports'.
1.2.2. Custom field of type 'Number'
If you need a custom field of type 'Number' for the Recording, you choose the field for the desired feature. Define now a name for the custom field, e.g. 'Cost' and click on 'Save'.
Note: If you choose a custom field of type 'Number' for the custom field, you can insert only numbers. The value ',00' is always attached automatically after the inserted value.
The custom field 'Cost' is now shown directly in the recording dialog. Insert the desired value directly in the custom field 'Cost'.

1.2.4 Custom Field of type 'Yes / No' (Boolean)
In our example we're using a boolean custom field in order to say if the work was done "On Site" or not. If the checkbox is checked ('Yes') it means that the work was done on site. In order to use the field give it a name, choose the type and click save.
The default value for optional custom fields is 'No'.
If you change the datatype it may appear that already inserted data isn't shown correctly any more.
The custom field 'On Site' is now shown directly in the recording dialog.
