In many cases it is legally required to record not only 30 minutes of break time but to record the exact time of the break. That’s not possible if your employees use ‘Pause’. Only if the employee stops the recording of the working time when beginning the break and starts the recording again at the end of it, the exact time is registered.
Disabling Manual Breaks
Therefore, you can deactivate manual breaks for working time via Administration/Settings/Recording. There you go to ‘Manual breaks’ and choose 'Not allowed’. Afterwards only ‘Start’ and ‘Stop’ will be visible for your employees.
If you choose this option the employee in fact has to click ‘Stop’ when going on a break and afterwards has to begin a new record by clicking ‘Start’ instead of pausing (‘Pause’) the recording and resuming (‘Resume’) it again. As an employer you have now detailed proof. For the employee this doesn't mean more clicks ('Start' + 'Stop' = 2 clicks, 'Pause' + 'Resume' = 2 clicks).
