The Paid Break feature allows you to define how many minutes of an automatic or recorded break are paid.
This gives you more flexibility when setting up break time rules, for example, if employees are required to take a longer break but part of it should still be paid.
Please note: A paid break is still a rest period. It does not count as working time.
Paid break time can be applied either to the automatic break or to recorded breaks.
To use the latter option, you need the Bookable Breaks module, which is currently in beta but can be enabled at any time. If you would like to try it out, please contact us at info@timr.com.
Important: If breaks are tracked via start/stop of working time, no paid break will be applied.
1. Configuration
In Administration/Working Time Rules, define how many minutes of the break should be paid, depending on the total working duration.
The paid break is automatically applied for all employees assigned to this working time rule.
2. Reports
2.1 Automatic Break
Under Reports/Working Time, you can see exactly how much of the automatic break is paid and how much is unpaid.
If you hover over the automatic break entry, a pop-up opens showing the details.
It displays the total automatic deduction and how many minutes of it are paid.
In the Timesheet, the automatic break is shown separately.
The paid portion of the break is added to the actual working time.
2.2. Bookable Break
When using the Bookable Breaks module, the paid break is always applied to the recorded breaks.
Example: A break lasts 32 minutes, 15 of which are paid and are therefore included in the paid time.
