timr supports the selection of tasks and the recording of notes via barcode and QR code. This has the advantage that tasks can be found easily, texts can be entered quickly and errors can be avoided.
1. Activate Task Selection via Barcode / QR Code Scan
1. Activate Task Selection via Barcode / QR Code Scan
In the apps, you can activate the QR code scan under "More"->"Settings"->"Task Selection" using "Barcode Or QR Code Scan". You can also move this setting to the 1st position, which means that the scanner for reading the code is activated immediately when you select tasks.
2. Generate tasks as code
To generate a QR code from a task, copy the task into a barcode generator, for example: https://www.the-qrcode-generator.com/ or http://www.barcode-generator.org/.
For example, if the task is:
Kunde Maier
- Projekt
- Aufgabe123
code "Kunde Maier/Projekt/Aufgabe123". This way the task will be found unambiguously in the task selection.
If you only code the name of the task, e.g. "Aufgabe123" (i.e. without higher-level tasks) and if the task occurs more than once, the task is not selected immediately but timr lists all tasks with the same name.
The scan is activated when you click on "Start project" under "Recording". If the scanned task is unique, it will also be selected immediately. Then click on "Start" to start the time.
3. Generate notes as a code
In the iOS app, you have the option of scanning text in the notes field and customer-specific fields via barcode. This function is still in the works for Android.
For example, create a barcode from your production order number "FE-123456" that you want to enter in the notes field for the associated task "Aufgabe345".
Now you can use this barcode to scan the production number "FE-123456" in the note field via the scan function.
