Team leaders and managers are authorized, depending on the configuration, to view and edit employee times, enter times for their employees, and approve requests.
The permissions depend on assignments to an organization. Read how to create an organization here.
2. Activate absence release for team leaders
1. Assign leader
A leader can evaluate the time recorded by the members of the department and release (leave) requests. If he himself is a member of his team, he can also release his own (leave) requests.
To assign a leader and members, open the Administration/Organization menu item and select the organization you want to edit.
In the "Edit" or "Create Element" window, in the "Assign Leader" tab you can assign a department manager, division manager, etc.
The list of your employees opens. You select the leader(s) from the "Selection" area using the plus button (2). You will then see the selection on the left in the "Assigned" area (1). With "Finish assignment" (3) and "Save", the selection made is saved.
Of course, you can optionally assign more leaders. To remove a leader, select the button with the minus sign next to the name.
Important: The selected leader is always automatically a member (1) of the organization. You can of course also remove the leader (2) in the member list using the minus button (3) and "Complete Assignment" (4) and "Save", this will make him exclusively a leader.
2. Activate absence release for team leaders
If a team leader is assigned in the 1st level, the permissions automatically inherit to the lower levels. Team leaders can thus view their team's times in all levels and edit them.
If the team leader was assigned in a higher level, the name will be displayed in gray in the lower levels. He can approve absence requests of employees in the lower levels via the request function, but does not receive an e-mail notification.
For example, if the team in the 2nd level does not have its own leader and the leader of the 1st level should receive the requests by e-mail, it must be assigned explicitly.
Marker 1: You will see the implicitly assigned team leader in gray.
Marker 2: Select explicitly the team leader again, so that he also receives e-mails to release requests.
You can see an explicit assignment when the name of the team leader occurs 2 times (1x black for explicit, 1x grey for implicit assignment).
