1. Location-based task suggestions
NOTE: Location based tasks and geofence work without location tracking, but timr must be authorized to access location services to check location (GPS).
1. Location based task suggestions
For tasks, projects or even single tasks you can add a location or address in the task administration. By configuring the task selection on the mobile phone via "Location", you will automatically get suggested projects that have this address or this position stored (see Task selection for iPhone / for Android).
1.1 Set address and position
Store the address of the location of the task in the task administration. This gives your employees the option of having location-based task suggestions displayed in the smartphone app.
The position you assign for the main task is automatically inherited by the subtasks.
However, you can also choose your own address for the subtask by selecting "Set own position" and entering a different address.
Adjust position
In business parks or large company premises, the address often does not correspond to the position where an employee needs to check in. In this case, you can move the pin to the position that more accurately corresponds to your location. You can choose to update or keep the address.
1.2 Project time recording via smartphone app with location-based task suggestions.
As soon as a position is stored for a task, the employee gets these tasks suggested at the corresponding position. For this, the task selection by location must be activated in the app, the instructions for this can be found here: iPhone / Android.
Tasks with a stored address can be recognized by the pin symbol. A gray pin indicates tasks for which a position is stored.
2. Geofence
To ensure that employees book their time on site at the customer, you can define a geofence, i.e. a restricted radius for a specific position, for orders, projects, or even individual tasks. The recording of time via the app on the smartphone for the corresponding task is then only possible within this defined geofence radius.
Note!
Geofence only works in the apps, not via the web app. Tasks that have a geofence can still be booked via the web app.
2.1 Configuring the geofence
You define the position of a task in the task administration directly for the relevant task (see 1.1. Define address and position). Here you also define how large the radius for the geofence must be.
Note: The smaller the stored geofence radius, the longer it can take until the smartphone has a correspondingly accurate position and the employee can log on to the task.
2.2 Project time recording via smartphone app with Geofence
If you have stored a position with geofence for a customer order, an employee can only start and stop the project time recording on the smartphone app if he is located at the relevant position within this geofence.
Tasks with a stored position can be recognized by the pin symbol. A black pin indicates a geofence.
If a task with geofence is selected, timr checks whether the mobile device is at the designated position within the specified geofence. If the mobile device is outside the geofence radius, your employee will receive an error message.
If you want to capture the position as well and allow start/stop of tasks only in a certain radius, you can also combine geofence and position tracking.
